Praise God with this quick meditation on the wonder of the Lord.
It’s a beautiful reflection that starts with Psalms 111. Once you finish reading Psalms 111 take in the reflection and let it speak to your heart. Let it bring you closer to the Lord.
Psalms 111 Praise for God’s Wonderful Works
“(1) Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation. (2) Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who have pleasure in them. (3) Full of honor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever. (4) He has caused his wonderful works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful. (5) He provides food for those who fear him; he is ever mindful of his covenant. (6) He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the heritage of the nations. (7) The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy. (8) They are established for ever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness. (9) He sent redemption to his people; he has commanded his covenant for ever. Holy and awesome is his name! (10) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who practice it. His praise endures forever!”
Before reading the reflection, pause for a moment to center your heart and mind. Ask God to guide you through this prayer.
Praise the Lord for He loves you with His whole heart. “He has caused his wonderful works to be remembered” (4). You are his wonderful work. Because you are the greatest being He has created. That is why you can “give thanks to the lord with [your] whole heart” (1) unlike any other creature. For, you can love unlike any other animal. You are capable of receiving the Lords infinite love. The infinite love that will guide you to salvation.
“The Lord is gracious and merciful” (4). He is so thankful that you are spending time with Him right now. The Lord is merciful and forgiving, seeing nothing but the goodness inside of your heart. He knows your heart and knows what you seek. The Lord will give you what you desire as long as you trust in Him: “He provides food for those who fear him” (5).
He is there to guide you always. His commandments are “trustworthy”. They were created to escort you to everlasting love. They were crafted for you “to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness” (8). This is what He has sent to you. He will never leave you alone. He is everlasting and always there to guide you to salvation. All you need to do is open your heart to His love.
What a great being He is! One who cares, One who loves infinitely, One who has sacrificed for you. His love and mercy is everlasting. “Holy and awesome is his name!” (9). Take His hand. Let Him guide you. He is waiting for you. Praise God!
